Every August, the rolling countryside near Hamilton, Missouri comes alive with the sights, sounds, and smells of history in motion. The Northwest Missouri Steam and Gas Engine Show is more than just an exhibition of antique machinery—it’s a celebration of agricultural heritage, mechanical ingenuity, and small-town community spirit.
Hosted by the Northwest Missouri Steam & Gas Engine Association, this annual event brings together enthusiasts, families, and curious visitors for a one-of-a-kind experience. Whether you love tractors, live demonstrations, parades, or simply enjoying a weekend of family fun, the Steam & Gas Engine Show has something for everyone.
The 62nd Northwest Missouri Steam and Gas Engine Show will take place on Friday, August 15 through Sunday, August 17, 2025, at the association’s showgrounds located at 834 NW Osage Drive, Hamilton, Missouri.
Admission: $5 per day or $10 for a weekend pass (includes a commemorative button).
Children 5 and under are free.
Special events like the Hot Rod Tractor Pull require a separate ticket ($15 for adults, $10 for kids ages 6–12, free for kids 5 & under).
For over six decades, the Steam & Gas Engine Show has transported visitors back to a time when horsepower really meant horses and when engines ran on fire, steam, and ingenuity. This is more than just a display of old machines—it’s living history.
Visitors can watch steam engines huff and puff back to life, see blacksmiths at work, watch demonstrations of sawmilling and threshing, and experience the skills that built rural Missouri. From massive tractors to one-cylinder gas engines, the show offers a fascinating look at the tools and machines that powered farm life for generations.
